Why is mindfulness not working for me?
In learning the new skill of being mindful you have to approach it as learning any other skill it demands determination and perseverance. Approach your practice to mindfulness, gently, without any great expectations of curing every ill or achieving a sense of inner calm in the first sessions of practice. The ability of the mind to slow down and become restful is a gradual and progressive process. It is the building of a new neural pathways, a new habit in the long term memory, a new skill and way of perceiving the world. You will not be able to achieve that overnight! The more that you practice, the more your mindful awareness will develop increasingly you notice your mind is able to sustain awareness even in times of difficulty.
